Getting Personal with Yvette

002_2_yvette_smI am a mom. I am a wife. I am a registered dietitian. I am a small business owner. I am a lover of life and all that comes with it.  I like to set goals for myself, train, work hard, and reach them.

The work I do stems from over 10 years of working with individual clients in nutrition counseling. I have an immense passion for the power of the human spirit to achieve greatness. I believe in the good in people. I know that what we feed ourselves – both out mind and body – has a big impact on our potential to reach our goals. I know you have it in you to do whatever you put your mind to, you just have to Feed Yourself Right!

I love my family and friends and cherish the time I have with them. I never want a personal goal to take priority over them, but I also know that when I take care of myself with proper nutrition and exercise – I am a much better mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and worker.

But at the end of the day, I promise you I am just an ordinary person trying to live a good and healthy life.

Being born to an entrepreneur father and very creative mother, I am what they call a “mompreneur.” I combine what I learned and genetically inherited with my formal education and training in kinesiology, nutrition, and dietetics into my own unique concepts, Food Therapy, Foodspiration®, and Customized Nutrition Newsletters + Design Services.

I am passionate about the field of health and nutrition, and always knew I wanted help people live healthier lives through preventative treatment.  One of the key principles to creating a healthy life is to first acknowledge and accept all that one is and what one was born with.  Then decide how to use our gifts, talents, and life experiences to enhance the world and people around us.

After years of being torn between giving up one love for the other (i.e. my love of nutrition counseling and working with clients vs. my love of writing and helping to market other health and fitness professionals vs. creating and writing inspirational material vs. the love for my family), I decided it was time to embrace all three concepts and make them work synergistically.

My favorite quote – and one that really changed my perception on what I could accomplish is by Zig Ziglar

“You can have everything you want in life as long as you help other people get what they want as well.”

Be inspired. Be empowered. Be the best you can be.

You got this ;)
