Soul Food: Eat My Own Food

November 20, 2019

“We hear that some are conducting themselves among you in a disorderly way, by not keeping busy but minding the business of others.

Such people, we instruct and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and to eat their own food.” 2 THES 3:7-12

Dear Lord Jesus,

How often I find myself looking and comparing myself to others?

Not only am I guilty of comparing, but I also find myself looking at the food they are eating (or not eating), and I wonder why can’t I do the same?

I recognize that watching what they eat or what they are not eating is only distracting me from YOUR plan.

Help me to nourish myself, both mind and body, with food designed to make me feel and perform my best. Help me remember because we are each designed with a unique purpose, what my neighbor needs in fuel and nourishment will be different from what I need.

Help me as I surrender this worry and trust You to feed me.

Give me the strength & wisdom to nourish my body with what you know I need.

Amen
