After I had my daughter I realized that my life changed…forever! I have always loved working out and found that not only is it healthy for my body, but also my mind and spirit. However, before I became a mother I could schedeule my workout around whatever time worked. Well, not anymore… once the day is started between working, caring for my daughter, husband, cooking, cleaning, and making sure to spend a little quality time with my family, I realized that there are only so many hours in a day and if exercise is really important to me then I just have to wake up early and get it done. Once I accepted that reality, it got so much easier and I found the balance again that exercise gave my life. Before having a baby, I would not have considered myself an early morning person, but now I love my morning workouts and find waking up to fit them in sets the tone for the rest of the day. I write this blog because if you are struggling trying to fit it all in, then start trying to do your workouts in the early a.m. – you will be amazed at how much easier it gets as time goes on and how invigorated you feel when you can say “I did it!” Start by waking up 30 minutes earlier than you do now, just getting in 10 – 20 minutes of exercise is a good start. Need a little more motivation? Find a buddy to partner up with or join class where you are expected to show up. Pre-paying for a program, such as a morning boot camp class is also another great way to get and stay motivated. If you are struggling to fit it all in, try the morning workouts – give it about 4 weeks and your body will be used to the a.m. buzz!
